Yaya fails to make Rotterdam trip

Yaya Toure will play no part in Manchester City's UEFA Champions League clash against Feyenoord in Rotterdam this evening, after he was left out of the squad that made the trip to the Netherlands.

Reports suggest that the 34-year-old and head coach Pep Guardiola have bumped heads once more, with the midfielder having yet to feature for the club this season.

Tyson admits that being captain brings pressure

Guardiola revealed that the former Ivory Coast captain knows why he is yet to play a part for the Citizens in the current campaign, despite describing Toure as a 'special player'.

"I spoke with him and he knows the reason why, but it is between him and me," said Guardiola.

"It’s just a sportive decision. Yaya was so important last season – six players’ contracts finished last season and the only one who stayed is Yaya because he is a special player," he concluded.
