Free State Stars have announced that they have parted ways with coach Giovanni Solinas and replaced him with Serame Letsoaka.
Under Solinas’ leadership, Ea Lla Koto struggled through the first half of the 2016/17 Absa Premiership, picking up just 14 points from their 15 matches to sit precariously above the danger zone.
This had led to the departure of the Italian, who has been replaced by former Golden Arrows and Bloemfontein Celtic manager Letsoaka.
“The mutual termination of the head coach's employment contract was based on the fact that the coach and the management of the team did not share the same vision with regard to the approach for the remainder of the season and the future and as a result both parties have decided to amicably terminate the relationship,” said a statement issued by general manager Rantsi Mokoena.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank the head coach for his hard work throughout his employment with the club and we wish him all the best for the future.
“Furthermore, the club would like to announce the appointment of Serame Letsoaka as the new head coach for the remainder of the season.”
Stars will resume their Premiership campaign with a clash away to Kaizer Chiefs on February 7.
