Alhassan Wakaso to join Lorient – report

Ghana’s Alhassan Wakaso has signed a contract with French Ligue 1 club Lorient, according to GHANASoccernet.

Rio Ave player Alhassan Wakaso is the younger brother of Mubarak Wakaso, who is currently part of Ghana’s squad which will participate at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

The 25-year-old holding midfielder has reportedly signed a three-year deal and will wear the number 23 jersey for the French club.

Wakaso’s move from Portugal’s Rio Ave will see him join fellow Ghanaian Abdul Majeed Waris at the French club.

The Tamale-born player made his name with Portimonense but has been on the books of Rio Ave since 2013.

The 2015/16 season saw him earn rave reviews with the Portuguese club and become a major transfer target.
