Sakala replaces Thobejane at Baroka

Latest information coming from the Baroka camp in South Africa is that the coach Kgoloko Thobejane has been replaced by Jacob Sakala.

Bakgaga Ba Mphahlele have roped in former Dynamos and Mpumalanga Black Aces coach, Sakala, in an aim to improve the Premier Soccer League newcomers fortunes.

According to the CEO, Morgan Mammila, he confirmed that the experienced coach has taken over at the club with Thobejane set to assist him.

Mammila also shed light on why they opted for Sakala as he said the unavailability of Mamelodi Sundowns' Pitso Mosimane and Bidvest Wits' Gavin Hunt changed their planning.

"Yes, it's true, he [Sakala] will take over from today," Mammila told

"A wise man always changes his mind. Thobejane will now be our assistant. This is his brother's team, obviously he is happy with the new arrangements because he wants the club to succeed.

"Pitso and Hunt are obviously not available. Those are the two coaches we would have like to bring on board because we also want to play Champions League football.

"We want top eight, I can say safety and top eight is the mandate."

The Limpopo side is sitting at the bottom of the table with 12 points from 15 matches. Their first match in 2017 comes against Chippa United in Port Elizabeth on February 8.
