Ndlanya: Steve Komphela must stay at Kaizer Chiefs

Despite having endured tough times as coach of Kaizer Chiefs, Amakhosi legend Pollen Ndlanya wants coach Steve Kmphela to remain in charge.

The Daveyton-born forward spoke to the Sowetan newspaper as he shared his views regarding the future of the former Bafana Bafana skipper.

Ndlanya believes it is up to the Kaizer Chiefs players to decide whether they want to play for the club or not.

"Obviously this season Kaizer Chiefs didn't do well‚ I guess their performances were not okay‚" he said.

"But losing key players like Tefu Mashamaite and Reneilwe Letsholonyane affected the team in a very dramatic way.

"It is up to the players to decide whether they want to play or not‚ you can blame the coach or whatever but it's up to the players.

"It was one of those things where the team is going through a bad patch.

"In fact‚ they were not consistent in terms of winning games but now recently they have started to do well."

Despite their poor start, Chiefs managed to register seven points out of their last three matches in 2016.

The results took them to the fourth spot on the Absa Premiership log table with 24 points from 15 matches.
