Why I rejected Rivers United super deal - Enyimba star Afelokhai
Goalkeeper Theophilus Afelokhai has insisted he is happy at Enyimba and so turned down a big offer from Rivers United.
"I was approached by Rivers United but if you have followed my career, you will understand that I don't just move from one club to another,” he said.
"I like stability and that was why I played for Kano Pillars for 10 years before I moved to Enyimba.
"Rivers United promised to give me what I deserve, but I am happy that I have an improved salary with my club. That was why the Enyimba sporting director Jude Ayandufu, who is saddled with the responsibility of performance appraisal, rewarded me with an improved salary.
“And something also tells me the New Year will be the year again for Enyimba to rule Nigeria football.
"We got some quality signings coupled with some of the old players with vast experience in the game.”
